Water Challenges: Hard water has remained the culprit of delayed surgery schedulings, and harmful in circumstances where complete sterility was required. While water hardness in itself brings no sort of dangers, the total dissolved solids (TDS) such as sodium, magnesium, and calcium can compromise pH levels, elevate alkaline levels that can disrupt sterilization efforts. These issues include the reduced quality in the drinking water system that is affected through hardness in the changes in color, taste and odor.
Applied Solution: Pure Aqua specializes in providing custom water treatment solutions for hospitals requiring reduction of water hardness. A twin alternating ion exchange system was designed for a major company in Kuwait. The ion exchange system provides softened water at a continuous rate of approximately nineteen gallons per minute. Because this system in particular is an alternating system, when one softener needs to recharge its resin, the standby softener can take over automatically, allowing the system to continually soften water.
