Water Challenges: Most new buildings that are constructed for commercial applications, hospitals, schools, and hotels require separation with two different drain pipes between the greywater that discharges from showers, kitchen and bathroom sinks, dishwashers, and laundry; and the second drain pipe collects the blackwater which emanates from the toilet. This process demands much effort to complete precisely before cleaning and filtering the greywater, then reusing it for specific applications.

Other than black water, which is not capable of being reused for any application until it is 100% treated and sanitized in a sewage treatment plant, greywater treatment is much simpler to reuse, usually done with storage tanks.

Water Challenges: The reuse of greywater through media filtration is an efficient practice that is used in various applications such as irrigation and industrial facilities. Many farms are depending solely on the provision of formerly treated greywater to be incorporated in their equipment and system operation. Treatment is required since greywater contains extremely high degrees of pollution in the form of hardness creating minerals, organic substances, sediments, particles, etc. These contaminants can wreak havoc when applied to industrial, commercial, and domestic applications. A rapidly growing practice is reusing greywater and treated sewage effluent (TSE) for the utilization in the irrigation industry. This wastewater, after going through a Membrane Bio-Reactor and Ultrafiltration, may not be suitable for drinking water but is perfect for use in farming and irrigation. There are even farms that rely solely on TSE for their water, taking no water from underground aquifers.

Pure Aqua successfully manufactured and supplied water filtration systems to a major company in Oman to remove contaminants that makeup greywater such as particulates, organics, odor, and hardness from well water. The filtration systems came with multimedia filters, water softener & UV sterilizer. The filtration system was designed to produce 2 x 97 GPM.

Equipment that is exposed to hard water faces the issues of scaling, which reduces the performance and long-term usability. The water in itself acquires a bad odor, and taste as a result of the hard minerals such as calcium and magnesium. Consequently, water softener systems and filtration equipment have been utilized to reduce the hardness in water that is utilized in these hotels.
